I was checking on the bobistheoilguy forums for air filters. I have a pureone filter in but I noticed several people on there having a loss of 2-4mpg using it. However I don't know if they had a panel or cone filter. Has anybody here experienced any ill effects from a pureone. Also what is recommended for a air filter for this generation of continentals.

I have a cone and use a K&N. I noticed no increase or decrease in mileage with it. I just like the fact they last forever. Your mileage could very 1-3 mpg any given day depending on temp, wind and traffic (drafting effect), and if the highway your on has the concrete sides. I can pull 22 mpg 1 way and 28 on the way back.

In these cases the mpg drop/increase would happen every time they put in the pureone and or switched for the old filter. In each case paper 1 of which was an oem nissan filter.

stick to motorcraft parts, they'll give you original performance,or switch to k&n filters if you want to get a very slight fuel mileage increase,it gets a nice intake noise too!
