Chadly May 1st, 2009, 08:16 PM Here are a couple. Mine was $1200 cuz I got the top of the line and had them do a lot of body work too

k9t8m May 1st, 2009, 09:46 PM Did they remove any of the lights, handles, mirrors etc?
blklscmd May 1st, 2009, 10:59 PM i dont know if they did or not but i looked at everything very closely and didnt see any overspray on the lights or glass the did a good as job. They get alot of work they had a 70's something monte carlo they did no bull you couldve ran it threw the barret-jackson auction it was flawless
kustomizingkid May 1st, 2009, 11:04 PM I would love to see some good pics of it... looks ok, but then again those pics could hid an elephant.
TDUB May 1st, 2009, 11:20 PM +1 on the guinea pig comment. They quoted me for like $1700 but my paint is tri coat pearlescent. I was told by a guy I know who does body work to do all my own prep work and take it to them.
Speed Demon May 2nd, 2009, 05:48 PM I still can't decide to black out all the trim or nor(base model)? ?
timothyr May 2nd, 2009, 06:03 PM personally as far as the chrome it seriously depends on personal preference and color....I love the chrome on the pearl white gen1's, on most of the other colors i like either body color or black; but again thats just personal preference.

new pics
johnboy89 May 5th, 2009, 08:27 PM They will do a decent job, if you prep it remove lights trim, etc...
The one near me has had the same owner for quite sometime and a few old timers work there that do decent work.
The thing is that most body shops don't want to be bothered and if they do they are going to charge you alot. if you are looking for decent driver paint job then go for it. Of course some maaco's might be different than others??
kustomizingkid May 5th, 2009, 08:28 PM You like close ups huh?
Looks pretty good though...
BAD97LSC May 5th, 2009, 09:17 PM stand back and take a real picture!
blklscmd May 6th, 2009, 10:06 AM I dont know if anyone has done this or not but they painted my turn signals on the mirrors.I didnt like it at first but it still lights up good i think it looks better with them painted black.I will post a pic
rubberducky700 May 6th, 2009, 12:22 PM Maaco ussually just tapes off all components, mostly nothing gets removed. and if its too slow getting tapped they have been known to just spray right over it. (trim and such)
Its a good fix on a low budget but it wont be permenant. Really what kind of quality do you get for 900 bucks, When most shops cost in low end of 4000 with minor body work. its not a material mark up
blklscmd May 6th, 2009, 02:48 PM it will be permanent enough for me i got my crown vic done by earl sheib 4yrs ago in black still shines to this day.I think its all in how you take care of it wax will make it go a long way.
