My temperture control doesn't work and the dealer said the "heater box" was the problem. Is this the whole heater case? There must be a better way. Anyone out there have a suggestion on what else could be the problem?

It maybe the 'blend door' problem that the 1997-1998 Marks have. Try the search function and type in blend door, you will be surprised how much info there is on it here. :Beer

My 98 LSC had the same problem. $500. at the dealer. Has to drop the dash.
