Little help with wheel choice

Alright guys, I called my wheel place to fix my directionals and since they are chrome, they take 4-6 weeks and are 325/wheel to repair. I am leaning towards just picking up some new ones now.

Option 1 - 17" 03-04 Cobra Replicas(if they made 18"s i'd go that route) from www.thecustomwheelshop.com

Option 2 - 18" Saleen Speedstars from the custom wheel shop.

Think availability of tires and look. I am upgrading to the 1.5" lowered coils at the same time

Prefer the 03/04 replicas myself. I think they have a cleaner look. Just never been a fan of anything Saleen.

Brad is making me lean towards the Saleens. I really love the cobras but i want 18's due to tire selection. He's gonna email me some pictures of them on actual cars.

Oh and he doesnt have the cobra in stock.

Alright! So the Saleens are looking good.

My only other question is warden, you have Poniesviii's old car, and he hasnt been on in a while. So i need to know what he had to trim down to get the rear tires to fit?

I want to get that width in the rear!

That wasn't Poniesviiii's 96LSC... it was Devilchild's old car....

Warden.... when I saw that you ordered $3000 worth of parts for a first gen I thought you were a little crazy... now that I know you have that BEAUTY of a 96 LSC I say money well spent!!

Is it??? well that car is amazing!!!

Anybody got a way to get ahold of him and ask what he had to trim down?

That would be a HUGE help. Since i am ordering them today.

it was devils car. He had not done anything to get the wheels to fit. I am going to roll the fenders when I have the wing installed.

got anymore pictures of that car? like a rear shot showing how wide the tires are.

ALSO, are you completely certain on the tire size? because that is Definately the look i want, but a 35 series sidewall seems like it would be narrower! i was thinking they were 275/45/18?

I couldn't think of a better place to invest my tax refund (actually got monay back this year:eek: ) and the company gave us a little tax bonus too:cool: . Just about covered the parts from Max.
Next year will do tranny cooler and oil cooler and the drive shaft. Still need to do the stereo this year - maybe.

I will go and check the tire sizes for you. If you want to see more pics of the car you can go to the following link.

I bought the car in the winter and have not been able to photograph, drive, or put the rims on the car. Can't FREAKIN wait!! EDIT: FYI I did not buy the hood. Got the stock hood.
Just wish I had some diehard VIII owners around here.

I'd vote for the Saleens too. :)

For the tire width, 275 is how wide they are. So a 275/45-18 and a 275/35-18 are the same width.
The second number is a percentage of the first, and is how tall the sidewalls are...

Tire Size is as follows...
Front 245/40zr18 93W
Rear P275/35zr18 95W

Took some pics of them off the car but can't get them off the camera till tomorrow.

Both look good but my preference would be for the chrome Cobra R but, I'm more old school, I still think the Cragar SS is the best looking wheel made.
Here's a shot of the back of my old rust bucket with the Cobra's and 315/35-17's on the back. 275/40-17's on the front. The back has about 11" contact to the pavement for each tire. Stock height (I think it looks a little higher than normal due to the incline it is parked on). The 315's do stick out a little, definitely not for a dropped car without some metal bending.
