pepperman February 10th, 2005, 07:41 PM viiiball, if that is what you want go for it.
viiiball February 10th, 2005, 07:47 PM depending how complete ,you can build one for as little as 5 grand, though thats still alot by my standerds, but cheaper than a custom rod.....and way cool!!!!
brentalan February 10th, 2005, 07:57 PM Do it with a Mark VIII motor at least. :)
ERIC1 February 10th, 2005, 08:13 PM if it floats yer boat
1wykdmk8 February 11th, 2005, 08:53 PM I just love cars actually. Rat Rods are kool as hell, as long as they do not still look like the belong in the damn junkyard though.
I have been toying around with an idea of building one with a Mark VIII motor in one, but as it stands right now, I can not.....but it is still on my mind as a thing i want to do. :Beer
gadget73 February 12th, 2005, 01:16 AM Rat rods are neat, as are unlikely rods. Think something like a supercharged AMC Pacer or (heaven forbid) a Yugo with a DOHC 4.6 in it. Stuffing big engines into wierd cars that were never meant to go fast is just cool.

Well, I HAVE seen a Yugo with a complete drivetrain from a Grand National. The guy that did this, did a REAL good job of customizing it that you would not recognize that it was a Yugo. It had a ribbed roof like what is on a Chevy Nomad, among other things. I would have to break out the video that I have with it on it to remember what else it had on it, but it did have the GN drivetrain in it.....that was kool. :Beer
gadget73 February 12th, 2005, 11:51 PM The supercharged 3.8 engine? Dude that rocks!
brentalan February 12th, 2005, 11:58 PM That's such a great idea because those things were so light. I remember a neighbor of mine had one when I was a kid. We were out playing soccer and accidently bounced the ball off the roof of the Yugo. The whole roof buckled in and bounced back (luckily we didn't dent it). I'm sure they weigh nothing!
