How can you tell?
In the 94 I can feel them open a little over 3k rpm like they should. I mean I feel it pull stronger. But in the 97 it feels like it pulls the same all the way through. It used to be just like the 94 but its not anymore. Y'all know what i'm talking about?
Will it throw a CEL if they are stuck either open or closed? Any way to test it?
Hind sight being 20/20, I should have cleaned them really good when I had the intake off.:(

The Gen 2's SHOULD throw a CEL if the don't open..... what I'm guessing is happening is that you are noticing difference between the gen 1 and 2 intakes... the gen 1's just pull harder, and when the IMRC's open they pull WAY harder....

Actually I noticed it before I got the 94. And with the 4.10's my 97 pulls harder, just dont notice any difference above 3k like I used to.
I'm gonna try some seafoam tomorrow to see if that helps at all.
I have searched a lot and cant find a way to test the IMRC, anyone know a way to test it?

With regard to gen 2 cable operated IMRC's; Never looked, but I guess you could shine a light down the back of the engine and check for movement also?

I'd just stick my hand back there and have someone rev the motor to 4k...

they work in P and N, just rev it and look for movement on the driver side (easier too see) rear of the intake
