Pesky Check Engine Light

My check engine light seems to come on from time to time. Only after I've done a hard acceleration. I had the code checked, and I don't actually remember the code, but I do remember it is something with the CID. My mechanic says the CID tells the computer if the car is a 4, 6 or 8 cylinder. Has anyone experienced this?

Your mechanic needs to go back to school? The CID(Cylinder IDentification) sensor in the Mark VIII is known as the Cam Sensor. In my humble experience, if the CE light comes on predictably after hard acceleration, it is usually the O2 sensors or cats. Have the codes checked again and write it down so we can help and not have to guess.
