I need to know if anyone has ever tried to or has successfully installed a double din radio in the lincoln ls. I ordered a new navigational unit from eclipse and now i am now sure if its going to fit. If anyone has any information about this let me know.

i have done it but it took some modding to my aftermarket harness. I ended up cutting too much plastic on the harness and took the d-din out. i never got around to trying it again but yes it can me done

ok what did you do with the double din. So did you just trim out the aftermarket faceplate, and there was plenty of room behind the head unit right. I was just wondering how well the aftermarket matched the rest of the console. Is it a solid black or charcoal gray which i think i the color of the interior?? THnaks again.

Double din and single din units should have the same depth or else is something wrong only difference is the double din is thicker. My single din aftermarket kit matched the rest of my console perfectly black, It had a little pocket right under the origional unit. I trimmed too much off of mine and it wasn't holding on as securely as it should have but if your careful it should.
