Hey I just read in the owners manual that the select shift trans. learns the drivers style and adjusts accordingly. It states that after the battery has been disconnected it will have to relearn. My question is this. Since I am the second owner of this car should I purposely make the car learn my style by disconnecting the battery?

I would. leave it disconnected for 5mins. then take your LS out and drive it like you want it to. it could take up to 10 shifts of each type to 'learn'.

Last two years I have reset mine about every six months any way; becasue I am cleaning my battery post. My grandfather had a theory about fresh power... basically when you tried everything to fix something with no success just remove the power source and reconnecet after a few minutes.

I'm gonna have to try that one, get out on I-94, and run like hell (well like everyone else) around Chi-Town, I'm glad I found this post.
