I have a 2000 lincoln ls V8 and the other day the check engine light came on. there is 100,000 miles on it, but has been running a little shady recently. I took it to autozone 2day and i was just hoping for a common missfire and an easy repair. The code came up P1405..i cant find anything online about it, and id like to repair ASAP before it leads to more problems...ne help will be greatly appreciated.

Trans activity is probably caused by poor running engine.

I came across a list the other day in a download someone recommended to me.

I looked it up and found this....P1405 DPFE Sensor Upstream Hose Off Or Plugged.

I wounder if someone can take the list and post it up on the site somewhere.

P1405 Differential Pressure Feedback Sensor Upstream Hose Off Or Plugged

the DPFE is a little plastic module on the firewall behind the engine on the passenger side. It has on electrical connector and two little rubber hose coming from it to the EGR tube (which come off the passenger side exhaust manifuild to the EGR valve on the intake).

Its job it to measure the pressure build up or drop in the EGR tube - which tells the PCM that the EGR valve is working properly.

Check to see if one of the little hoses is off, plugged, or cracked.
