the alternator is one of the easiest parts to change under the hood.

disconnect battery, remove belt, unplug alternator, unbolt alternator, install new alternator, plug in new alternator, install belt, re-connect battery.

its front/center...cant get any easier.

Like Boingy said......it is one of the easiest things to do on the car.

1) Pull the positive battery terminal.

2) Remove the serpentine belt.

3) Remove the spark plug wires off of the bracket that goes over the alt....you do NOT need to pull the spark plug wires, just pull them off of the bracket and lay them on top of the intake.

4) Unplug the wiring harness off of the back of the alt. (pic 1)

5) Remove the nut that holds the other wire onto the alternator under the rubber cover. (pic 2)

6) Unbolt the top of the alt by removing the bracket that holds the alt to the engine, and the alt to the bracket.....you do not have to remove the bolts that hold the bracket to the alt until after you have removed the alt. (pic 3)

7) Loosen up the lower bolts that hold the alt to the front of the motor.....you MAY have to remove them because some of the alt are not slotted at the bottom, but most are.

8) Reverse these directions to reinstall alt.

Hope that helps. :Beer
