The check trac light has come on twice. The last time the car slowed down
and I was able to get it to the side of the road. Both times I turned the car off and was able to restart it. The light didn't come back on and the car performed normally.
WHAT DOES CHECK TRAC MEAN!

Its the traction control, the rear tire may have lost traction temporaially (sp), I don't think its anything to worry about, there are much more knowledgeable guys in here that may have the right answer.....lol gl w/ it !

Is it Lincoln or Caddi? The light willl in fact come on when ths system becomes active; ie tire looses traction. If it goes right back off it's performing normaly.
If the light comes on randomly and stays on for any length of time it's probably a wheel speed sensor going bad. Is the ABS light on or does it come on when this happens?

Where's Selma? I've had my light come on when it seems perfectly dry out, I call it my Black Ice Indicator... ;) It may seriously be nothing, think about where you were when it happened...
Check Trac is like an 89 Lincoln TC right?
