hey max... my mother in law has an explorer with the keyless entry.. where do we find the code??
i know my mark viii is in the trunk . but ive looked and cant seem to locate hers.. shes owned it for 5 years and never even thought to get the code..
and if i get you the VIN.. how much for a spare ignition key??.. is that something you would have to get ??.. or could i get a blank from you and get it cut around here??
local stealership wants over $100 for a spare ignition
im only asking because im tired of breaking into it when she locks the keys in it WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING !!..

What year is the explorer, My aviator which is essentially a explorer didnt have the code anywhere. You will have to take it to the dealership so they can put it on the computer to retrieve the code.

What X2 said??
The 100.00 is a little high. Transponder keys are <30.00 and programming is 49.00 here if they do one or 6 keys.

i thought he was talking about the door code, if he is talking about the remote keyless entry he can find directions on google.

Next time it goes in for service just ask as a convenience if they can get the code for you since they will most likely run a diagnostic anyway. Otherwise, my local dealership wanted $35 to get that code from my LS.

On my explorer (2000 Eddie Bauer AWD 5.0) if you open the jack storage door and look forward the keyless gizmo is in there with the code on it. its actually a little bit forward of the jack spot, youll need a flashlight and to pull the plastic trim out just a little bit to see it.
