I have an 87 jetta don't know the miles just wanted to know any easy ways to boost performance ya know make it less scary on the highway

Easiest way to gain HP is to free up the robbed HP. do a full tune up, clean the carb and fuel system, change trans and PS fluid, oil, and Let it breath better in and out, some sort of an intake and exhaust.

You'll end up getting more MPG too.

Can't do intake it has that stupid fuel injection thing on top of the filter

Thas why I said "some sort" of an intake to get cooler air to the engine. Like run some custom duct work up to it or what ever you could come up with. But the tune up, fluids, and fuel system ceaning will certianly get you started.

Ok took the car to work today and all of the sudden the engine begins to cut in and out I look at the tachometer the thing is going crazy up down up down what the heck is going on
