Give a little more detail about how it runs, does it idle real high for a few seconds and die or hardly idle at all? Pics of it would help also. Are you sure you got you fuel return vacuum lines on right? did you bleed the air from the fuel rails? topher5150 September 7th, 2008, 04:53 PM it starts up then it kind of just dies. i didn't take the fule lines off so i wouldnt think that i need to bleed the fuel rail. the small vaccum line that runs to the EGR is not blocked i have it hanging there. the hose that runs from the IAC to the air intake tube is also not connected. but i had it running for a while the other day Tiltedhalo September 7th, 2008, 05:07 PM That 1/2 inch vacuum line that goes to from the Idle controller to the fresh air side of the intake needs to be there. If its not there the computer see's the fresh air drawn in as a vacuum leak not metered air from the MAF. Also did you remove the fuel injectors from the rails? if you did you have air in the lines. I also meant the vacuum lines that go to the fuel pressure regulator and return if they are reversed somehow the engine will starve for fuel. Tiltedhalo September 7th, 2008, 05:13 PM Do you have a block of plate on the EGR? if not thats a big vacuum leak. topher5150 September 7th, 2008, 05:28 PM i do have it blocked off wood_e September 7th, 2008, 05:53 PM is your IAC plugged in? topher5150 September 7th, 2008, 06:35 PM yep sure is topher5150 September 7th, 2008, 07:19 PM dose the hose connecting under the IAC need to be hooked up. the only other vac line that isn't attached is the small vac line that was connected to the EGR Tiltedhalo September 7th, 2008, 07:55 PM Yes the line from the idle control needs to be run to the air intake after the MAF for the computer to properly adjust the idle the IAC needs metered air. topher5150 September 7th, 2008, 09:32 PM What about the vaccum line on the EGR cap or leave it jhargarage September 7th, 2008, 09:36 PM Try burping the fuel rail and crank again to make sure you have correct fuel at the rail, can you hear the pump run? Even with a vac leak it should still try to run alittle more than that. Also try plugging vac lines and see if you can get her to run but watch that the idle doesn't take off on ya. 94m5 September 7th, 2008, 10:28 PM Try burping the fuel rail and crank again to make sure you have correct fuel at the rail, can you hear the pump run? Also try plugging vac lines and see if you can get her to run but watch that the idle doesn't take off on ya. No need to "burp" the fuel rail. You need to get the IAC hooked up to the metered side of the MAF. It will cause exectly what your describing. Here is a pic to show you. This is off of my old 95'. Mike 98CobraStarLSC September 8th, 2008, 12:26 AM dude you have to have the iac hose hooked to metered air. PERIOD... also make sure you plugged in your MAF and double check the TPS wires that you had to modify to make sure you dont have an open. check with a multimeter and check resistance. (ohms) topher5150 September 9th, 2008, 06:26 PM ok... now everyting is hooked up and running (idels a little weird until it gets going) like a raped ape. the gas pedal seem a little sensitive. i used the cobra throttle cable and throttle body and the bracket with the return spring. | |||||
