anybody swapped a DOHC 5.4 in a mark 8 out of a navigator ? i know there is a company that makes adapter plates to use the 4.6 intake manifold and they bolt up to the same motor and transmission mounts. reason im looking into this is because id like to make as much power as i can N/A and then spray it at the track. any info at all will be greatly appreciated

that might be true but i have heard the shock tower would need major modding do you have pics?

With the front spindle location and the added weight of the iron block 5.4 vs aluminum 4.6, traction would be a larger problem and not ONLY because of power. I don't see all that work being feasable on any level unless you go all out and move the firewall back. It's not hard to mod the 4.6.

thats what ive heard, the added deck height of the 5.4 with the added width of the heads + exhaust it wont work. id love to see it but i agree build a 4.6

I'll see if I can get some pictures of it.
