Installed a new MLPS, on the trans. Guess its not aligned properly. My shifter is offset with the letters on the console. I have to move the shifter aft of each gear for everything to work right. I installed with neutral selected, and aligned it up like the mark on the plastic.

My question is what direction would I need to adjust the switch to correct this.

Double check to make sure it did not slip. If you have it in neutral and the marks EXACT there should be no problem. Either that or maybe you shift cable somehow is not adjusted right.

Checked it again a few hours later, without changing anything. Worked like a charm, selector and letters lined right up. If it acts up again, might return the switch for another. I did notice on the first run the shifter was on the tight side.
It is acting normal sofar.
