I liked the concept of it having a retractable hardtop. But that car would not even compete with the likes of the XLR and BMW 3 series, if it was released.

I would use a modified mustang frame with IRS for improved handling, and b/c thats the way it should be. Then I would use the new aluminator cratemotor and add direct injection and displacment on demand for better fuel economy. I would set powerband at 320hp for base models and 420 for the LSC models, I would also add sync, all leather, 18" wheels with optional 20" wheels. H.I.D.s and L.E.Ds for the lighting on all models. Sunroof or vistaroof as options.

Yeah and the sticker price would be well over 60k! For over 60k I rather buy an M3 convertible!

Of course It would have air, and remember that some of our marks were around 40k when they were new. If the pony guys can have a 40k price tag so can we, remember we are driving a premier brand. I like the m3 as well but the m6 is more my style.

I would have to say negative on that one. If Ford went through with that concept, it would have went the way of the turd-bird.

the new t bird was under powered and over priced thats why it failed but in the end look at the resale of the t bird very good

Keep in mid this concept came out way before the new T-Bird. Ford uses MANY of the concepts for later designs of other cars. Heck, just look at the production Mark VIII, T-Bird and Cougar. Most would say they look a lot alike.

I think that the mark 9 may become a reality when they think there is a market for it. And anyways how many people on this site can afford a 40k car right now anyways? I mean look at the new cts coupe, if that thing takes off and I think it surely will. How long do you think lincoln will wait to make thier own coupe? Just wait and see guys.

Well I hope SOMETHING comes along. I really need two door RWD!
