Ok so get in the car and press the status button on the center console, until it goes to oil on the message center then press and hold reset.

What he meant to say was, "I do not have those buttons" not messages.

He is sitting right beside me and we are trying to figure out how to get these warnings off of the message center on the gauge cluster.

Unlike other LS's, his car has the message center but no buttons on the console to scroll through it--or clear the oil and air conditioning warnings.

If anyone has any information on the process to reset the message center (via disconnecting the battery for a certain time or using a brake code sequence like other cars) please please please chime in and let us know.

Try the owner's manual. If you don't have one, it's located where it says "TECH ARTICLES" up top.

Is there any chance the original vents were broken at one time and the previous owner replaced the center vents with one that does not have the buttons? You can disconect those 4 buttons and the message center will still work but you can not change anything on it.

take the vent off and see if there's a harnass back there. if there is then yes, if it doesn't then no :D . i know there are LS' that don't have the buttons, mainly V6's but none have chimed in. ask Artur, unless he does have the buttons, can't remember

the harness was not there on my v6 that did not have the message center, i have never heard of having a message center and not having the buttons to control it. my bet is on the vents being replaced

Did you ever figure this out? Do you have the harness to connect the missing buttons to?

Due to the lack of response I am thinking he got back in the car and said, "Oh, THOSE buttons"
