I emailed 5 people that have recently bought the aftermarket headlights. I've received two replies:

1.
Hello, I was very pleased with the headlights and the quality is just as good if not better then the OEM ones. They do have the leveling bubble on them and everything is the same. I would purchase another pair when needed.

~Don~

2.
Those lights look exactly like the factory ones. You will love them, get a H.I.D kit 10000k and you'll love them even more

I will post more replies as I get them.

I am going to pick up a pair myself when I get home from school today. I've got a new trick up my sleeve;)

I received another reply:

3. Hi Justin,
They look exactly the same, bubbles and mounting brackets. It fits like a glove and matches the hood and fender lines nicely. They are same as OEM. Very pleased with them. Good luck.

I just ordered a set. I will post detail pics of them when I get them early next week.

Justin00LS
July 24th, 2008, 02:05 PM
How do you get the special deal? I just bought mine and paid for them but I'd like to email the seller. my total was like $106ish

rickztahone
July 24th, 2008, 03:03 PM
well i was rounding out, he said it would be 10% on all his items on saturday so that's why i'm waiting. it's probably not a huge difference and you would get them before i did. the only thing i'm worried about is putting the ones i currently have in the oven to get the angel eyes out. maybe i should just get another set??

Don Guille
July 24th, 2008, 03:14 PM
i just confirmed with them. if you buy between saturday starting at 1am and before sunday midnight he will give you the 10% discount. total with shipping would be $101.46...

What's good Rick? What do you think the harm would be in putting the one's you have in the oven to get them open?

What's good Rick? What do you think the harm would be in putting the one's you have in the oven to get them open?

because i currently had angel eyes in my headlights and i need to heat them up to put them in the ones i'm going to get on saturday. i'm not sure if the heat of the oven will damage the angel eyes in any way. we shall see. 101 for a pair of headlights that are new and oem quality is a steal, even if you don't need them :D

They should be ok from what I have been gathering.

Think about it, you put the lights back in the oven to seal them up again with the cathodes in when finished.

see that's a step that i skipped while doing mine for the same reason. i though that it might damage them so i used a heat gun and sealed it up that way. if it is in the instruction to pop them back in the oven then i should be ok. that's good news for me. can't wait to get the new lights

Aye Rick did you order already? or you waiting for da special discount? did you also see he has some headlights with the socket and bulb included for $59.99?

rickztahone
July 25th, 2008, 03:47 PM
no i didn't see that. i have not ordered yet. i already have my hid's so i wouldn't need the bulbs but if someone does need them then that would be a great deal. i will order 2morrow though.

question, if anyone has gone ahead and bought them. do i buy one and then the other w/out paying the first and then pay them together? or do i buy one, pay it and then buy the other? i'm not sure how that works since he doesn't have an auction that includes both. anyone with input please let me know

Don Guille
July 25th, 2008, 04:32 PM
When You click the buy it now it would say purchase more? or something like that go back and get the other one, and it would combine the shipping from you since they from the same store.

I contacted him and had him forward me an invoice with both the right and left on it. This included the little shipping discount for buying more than one item.

ok so i have the headlights in my possession and preheating the oven. the only thing, this gray sealant looks a lot more resistant. so these might be the same as the ones ken was talkin about. we shall see in about 10-15 minutes

rickztahone
August 1st, 2008, 07:27 PM
so they are apart! wasn't difficult either. the only difference is that these lights have a different sealant, it looks more like a gasket than glue. either way i'm about to try to pop my angel eyes on these bad boys. sorry forgot the camera. post some pics later

question, i need to take off the chrome part from the headlight backing. do i just unscrew the main screw that adjusts the light? i can't seem to take it off

pektel
August 1st, 2008, 07:46 PM
I thought it was just loose in there. Not loose exactly, but I don't remember anything securing them in the stock oem lights.

skizot722

Are you talking about the chrome reflector? It snaps onto these round nubs via white plastic things screwed into it. The round nubs are at the end of the two adjusting screws, and there is also a stationary one. I will see if I can find a good picture for you. You just have to pull hard on the reflector to get it to pop out. Be careful though, and apply equal pressure at the points where it's snapped onto these.

Here's a picture of the stationary round nub that the the white plastic piece snaps onto (the other two that are at the ends of the adjusting screws aren't in the picture because I've already removed them) - it's right next to the 'c' in the watermark - and there are three of them per headlight. The white plastic piece is screwed onto the reflector.

And here's a good one showing the white plastic snap pieces. Note that in the picture they're currently unscrewed from the reflector. These pieces screw into the reflector and snap onto the round nubs shown in the top picture.

Hope this helps! Good luck!
