intake port & polish - worth it?

So I have a 2002 V6 LS approaching 100K miles and decided its time to do some work. I am going to replace the spark plugs and belt along with the valve cover gaskets. My question is this, since I will have my intake manifold off would it be worth having it ported and polished. I don't have an cold air intake yet, but its in the works.

Is it worth the effort and has any one done it. Its been a few years since my auto mechanics classes in high school. Also is there anything else I should know about this, I want to keep it simple... if its to much effort I am going to just skip it.

I don't think you'll be getting a lot of bang for the buck. But I'm just guessing. I don't know anything about the V6 though.

nope not worth it. I mean if you can clean some of it up yourself then go for it. But not worth the money.

Yeah I figured as much, but thought I would ask.
