No, that is a classic sign of spyware on your computer. I had a nasty trojan that did the same thing awhile back. It somehow hijacked the ads on the thread. It was called Virtumonde (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&sa=X&oi=spell&resnum=0&ct=result&cd=1&q=virtumonde&spell=1), or Vundo (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=vundo&btnG=Search), I work as an IT Tech and I must say that if this is what you have, you're better off just to have the computer wiped and reloaded.

Download VundoFix (http://www.atribune.org/ccount/click.php?id=4) and run it, if it finds it, you might be screwed. There are all kinds of removal instructions on the internet on how to get rid of it but I spent probably 4 hours fighting it myself and decided it wasn't worth the hassle.

They're Google ads, not spyware. I see them at work, too.

Not so sure about google ads but a lot of trojan downloaders display popups based on what you look at online, for example someone like us would get ford popups (which I get a lot of, lincolns as well, on other sites that have google ads)

Being a tech as well, trojans SUCK! This week we have 3 computers with the same trojan; trojan-downloader.zlob. Manually finding it is terrible.

I don't get pop-ups at all. The Google ads are displayed on the forums pages. If you right click and "view source", you'll see that in the HTML.

I just right clicked and clicked what said block ads from google, now I dont have any.
