is sensor lowering just for looks?

i see that a lot of people with mark's on here do the lowering of the sensors, what is the purpose of it? Is it just for looks or does it do something else? Doesn't it make it drive worse without full use of the air shocks, someone explain this to me, please.

Lower center of gravity = better handling +1
Lower ride height = awesome looking +1

id say, if you want to keep somewhat of the same ride, but get better handleing...drop it anywhere from 1-2". that way it doesnt loose all of the bags, and it isnt too high (my car looks like a freekin stage coach)

Reality time.
1) Slight better road feel lower but the mushyness doesn't thrill me.
2) Much better look lowered. No questions there.
3)Easy to lower, expensive to repair the parts that will wear fast like the bags and the IRS doesn't like the new angles with premature bushing wear part of the equation, along with toe-in/toe out tire wear,etc.
4) Bouncy = not good or rough surfaces unless you like poingoing (slight).
