Prototype intake...

The intake came today. This thing is HEAVY. Some paces have an inch or more of metal. But is it made by Ford?

TPS sensor. Kind like this "chrome" look:

I dont recall the 01 intake, but the mouth on this one seems much deeper:

Some welding work done. It seems as if it was cast and this may have been working from filling the hat:

So what the heck is it? LOL But it wont fit any lower I know of. None of the gaskets match up.

Ok, a part number search shows this is most likely a Cobra intake. Later 01 models and such. Part numbers match except the suffix of CA versus the production of CD.

It's prolly a prototype that was not supposed to leave the building, and should have been destroyed. Looks like someone got the ol' five finger discount! :) Since there are no lower manifolds that it fits, maybe you should contact ford. Might be someone there who can give you more info.

I would love to get in contact with Ford, but I've found thats like talking to a brick wall. Its sometimes hard to find the right person who would actually love to talk about something like this.

Wish I had a lower. I doubt this is in anyway perfected, but it would be neat to have and maybe even try. I would have no problem doing dyno runs to compare each.
