Trying to come up with SOMETHING better than the ugly stock grille. And I want to be able to take an existing grille and modify to fit.

Its actually a Ford Fusion grille. I think it *may* look better actually done, not photoshopped.

Yeah it might look a little better... it's kinda flat from the photoshopping... but it still looks like a dryer vent like he said... yeah I'm not a big fan of our grills either they look ok... but just not like newer styles... I did a few photoshop mock ups up what a mesh one would look like and it wasn't all that great either the shape is just weird... if you guys have any ideas... I can photoshop pretty well... do it for a living!... I'm good enough I charge 125 an hour at least :D... but yeah I've been wanting to make a grill... just send me a pic of a grill you think would look cool and I'll see what I can do too :D

Na! JMO. You will come up with something though. If you like it then go for it, what the heck. Just be patient & take your time making it fit.

show us one with that grill (LOVE THE EMBLEM!!!!!) but with a white hood. Yah know I've looked at the grill of a Mark for 13 years...never noticed the hood was lined up with the headlights...lol

oh yeah, gen 1's grills leave much to be desired (lol trust me!)

Oh ya... ignore the black hood. That is getting painted soon enough. Some know the story behind that. 100+ MPH can be damaging to a weakened hood :)

the dryer vent (which is so true) gave me an idea....start with a low slat, going up about 1/3 inch each, then make it rise (like looking at dryer vent [while venting] from a side angle except opposite movement) so the fast you went the air would force it open more...ummm did I describe that well enough???

the front end of a mark narrows down....the grill would be "receiving" air instead of deflectiing it

The grill is one of my peeves also....

Ignoring the two tone, I think the grill looks cool.

I tried to imagine the hood white...but just couldn't. Unity, like you said, maybe if it weren't photoshopped it wouldnt stand out as much, or maybe if it were white like if it were a 2nd gen.

Keep playing with photoshop...Im desperate!!!!

LOL

I could put it on pull springs. With some fog lights behind I could flash Naval ship signals! Gotta love the more code!!!

Angle the slats back a bit and it would be ok.

It will look better if the grille is curved, you put the emblem straight up in the picture, curve it to match it and it will look great.

It would look better if you kept the hood the same color, and maybe make the bars thinner.
Maybe try adding a backlight to the emblem to make the emlem standout more.

The hood IS black right now :) Will be back to white soon. And then the car will be painted silver later.

And being in Wisconsin, that might help in the winter time, close to keep the warm air in, and open to let it out in the summer.

That would be where I'd start.

It has sort of a Mad Max look to it now. HeHe

I'm telling ya!!!! Make the slats open when driving the faster you go the more they open then close when at rest. Get a heat sensor for when the engine is hot, they stay open and gradually close as it cools....that should cost a mint and be a pain to maintain - appropriate for a Lincoln! lol ;)

one of these days in a dream...I will have a vision of the perfect grill.

It needs more tweaking, but I think the basic idea has potential, try tweaking the width of the bars and play around with spacing.

The only time I'd modify my stock grill is when I figured out how to duplicate a bentley grill.

It's only my opinion on the only feasable upgrade.

But look here, it's hardly ''chicken mesh'' .......
