In Jan 08 I had my car to the garage because the power steering went out. The Power steering assist light came on. After putting it on the computer it was found (I'm quoting my bill now) "codes U1859 and C1898 was not on demand Did Pin Point. Found imtermitten concern. Replaced variable assit selonoid." Cost me $980.00
Then in Feb the same thing happened. Put on computer and "Found Code
U1898 replace VDM. They replaced the control and the Core return. That total was $381.00.
Its been working fine until 2 days ago when the Assist light came on again and the power steering went out. I drove to where I was going and turned the car off. When I restarted it the steering was fine and the light never came back on. I took it to the dealer again then yesterday and he did the computer check again and could not find anything wrong with it. It hasn't done it since. So what's up? Is this something that I'm going to always have to worry about or is there a final solution to my problem?
