I have a 2000 LS V8 with sport package. I need to buy a new alternator but have come across 3 different Amp outputs ( 105, 110 and 130). What is the OE Amp and if its less then 130 can I put the larger one in and not have any problems? If I can will it make any diff over the OE one?

For some reason, 130 sounds about right. I would think that the V6 cars, and cars with less options would have the lower output units. Putting a larger one in won't hurt anything, the voltage regulator will keep the voltage in check. The higher rating allows the alternator to produce higher current at a rated RPM for a longer period of time. The only thing you might want to check is the wiring harness on the alternator itself, and make sure that the bolt pattern is the same. Just compare the new ones. If they are all the same pick one. If not, well... crawl under the car and have fun...
