im putting together an 04' ls and have hit a snag. i spent like 6hrs on the hood from my 01' donor car only to find that the 04' hood is different than the 02':eek: my question to all of you guys is what exactly is the difference?-thanks in advance:)

they are very different and i do not think you are going to be able to modify it to fit. i think one person went from gen1 to gen 2 but he replaced more things, i'm just trying to remember off the top of my head tho. hope someone else chimes in that better knows

I didn't realize they were different. I suppose its possible though. They look similar enough between the years but the headlights did change, as well as the header panel, so I don't see why the hood couldn't be slightly different.

yeah i think that's what it was. still, it probably would've been better to just go with the 2nd gen hood
