I am curious to find out how to keep the plastic headlamps from becoming hazy and ruined from the elements. To bad they aren't glass.

HizHonor January 9th, 2005, 10:13 AM I've done this and it works perfectly: http://www.lincolnsonline.com/article19.html I am curious to find out how to keep the plastic headlamps from becoming hazy and ruined from the elements. GrayGhost1 January 9th, 2005, 12:54 PM I use Meguiar's Plastx Clear Plastic Cleaner on all of the headlights I buff out for sale. This is a wonderful product and is best applied with a buffer. However, you can apply it by hand but to get the stubborn stains out I'd recommend a dual action buffer. Here's a link to the product: http://www.meguiars.com/store_meguiars/images/product_g123.gif Meguiar's PlastX Plastic Cleaner (http://www.meguiars.com/store_meguiars/product_detailpage.cfm?sku=G-123&store=meg) pragmatic January 10th, 2005, 08:01 PM Waxing with a non-abrasive wax is fine, but if the headlights are not yellowed or scratched I would not use a polish or buffer on them. All plastic headlamps have a hard coating on the plastic, once this has been polished off they will need to be polished fairly frequently. johnscottccr January 10th, 2005, 10:11 PM Much thanks to all of you! | |||||
