$20 for part and 5 min to change.
At the top of the page use SEARCH for cabin filter, well covered even last week.

Run away from there!
You can buy one for $10-$15 on eBay and at many part stores. You take off a couple plastic pop rivets, pull the old one out and slide the new one in. It takes like 5 minutes. They are wanting to charge you $200 for 5 min? That's $2400/hr! :D
search this site for cabin filter there are lots of threads on it

That really just makes me want to drive to the dealership and change it in front of them. They're rediculous.

lol....uh changing the AC filter is the easiest 5 minutes on the LS that you are going to get.
Don't buy a new one, just clean it off and blow it out with compressed air then reset the timer.

Thats got to be the worst sh*t I seen yet as far as dealer scams.
I say replace it *only* if it is very dirty. One good way of telling is that the air inside the car would feel more stagnant and the windows may fog up a bit more easily. The dash board message is just a guesstimate on the average amount of miles it takes until it is required to change it out. In some cases depending on where you live it may last 2 times as long.
If you decide to change it I recommend one with the activated carbon.

When I replaced mine, I had some air freshener spray for household furnace filters, that I sprayed on my cabin air filter. It makes for a great air freshener for the car with the vents off, and when the vents start blowing, it gets even stronger.
I couldn't believe how black the old filter was, who knows how long that had been in there.

HA I thought I was the only nut case to do something like that. I used a Leather fresh scent pine tree freshener.

I did that air freshener trick too when I kept getting the Low AC Filter warning. Works great. Girls always comment how good LS smells thanks to this sight.
