What 's the Best/Worst of the LS? in your opinion

What do like and hate about the LS?

I wish that the initial launch was smoother. It feels like the transmission has a high stall. The transmission is just too jerky and unstable.

Also, the popping door syndrome. The metal used in the doorjamb where the door sensor mounts is too thin which results in the driver and passenger front doors to pop when opening and closing. I'm sure everyone knows what im talking about.

I would also appreciate just a hair, no pun intended, more headroom.

I really enjoy driving my LS. I drive a 2007 Dodge Charger R/T 12 hours a day in all weather conditions and at all speeds. My Dodge is smoother shifting under light throttle application, but gets the job done when wide open.

Better brakes wouldn't hurt either.

Projector headlamps to better illuminate the road, the HID's are good but leave a bit to be desired.

Other than the few little things that prevent the LS from being the "Perfect" lux sedan, this car is very impressive for a mass produced, American made, well priced sedan.

An AWD MKS, with twin turbo, that would be the only reason to sell my LS.

The worst part? Aftermarket.

lots of parts are cheaply made (but thats not a problem strictly with the ls)

Dislikes:
No Aftermarket.
No Manual V8 (350 hp would have been nice too)
No (factory) Limited Slip
No bluetooth.
The wood rimmed steering wheel and shifter (changeable, I know)
2-3 upshift, 3-2 downshift
Inability to check tranny fluid
The idiots that want to park next to it
The dent my son put in it when he opened the door to the Explorer that my wife had just parked to close...
No aftermarket

Likes:
Ride & Handling balance
Size
Cooled seats
Best Headlights I've ever had
Acceleration from 30-90
Power down all windows with the key fob
THX/NAV (I need Sirius..)
2 power points in the dash + 1 in the console
Looks. Wow. This baby looks as good (better!) then it did in 2000. I met my wife for dinner last night and couldn't help but watch her leave....well yeah, both before and after she got in the car...but the LS is STILL a smoken hot car

An MKR would be an acceptable replacement (with an actual 6 speed!!!).

i likes:
handling
low and wide
comfortable front seats
power after 20-30 mph
smooth ride
radio
all the accessory stuff like heated/cooled seats
deep drunk
overall comfort level when driving
neatness of the car
sound of intake with JUST a K&N (sounds mean according to my friends sounds nice from inside)

i dislikes
trunk isnt tall
backseat room(i really think they shoulda made it 2 door sometimes)
stiff wheel sometimes
brakes
power from a stop
radio isnt LOUD enough

overall i give the car an 8 out of 10 but this is the BEST car ive owned and driven i wouldnt trade it in for anything less than luxury now because i am just in love with it... although i do want a scion TC but thats because i always wanted a 2 door 4 banger to whip around since i was 16 and i always get stuck with midsize lux sedans... haha

Best --- Looks, interior, smooth a$$ ride.

Worst --- 1) The fuqn beeps telling you every 10 miles "LOW FUEL" when your under 50 miles to go.

2) Aftermarket support
3) Lug pattern
4) The "jerking" associated with a crap tranny and/or the infamous coil problem
5) Clogged cats

Likes:
1) The design, especially exterior. Very European. It always reminded me of the Mafia Sentinel in GTA 3 :D
2) Smooth and ultra-quiet ride (assuming you are sticking with some stock engine parts)
3) Enough power to drive in most conditions and traffic
4) Very capable handling, cornering, & turning radius

Dislikes:
1) Some cheap parts & systems design, including leaky valve cover gaskets, cheap coolant reservoir, window regulators, clockspring, leaky headlights and taillights, no tranny dipstick, etc...
2) Very little headroom for taller drivers (i'm only 6', and it's annoying)
3) The incessant PCM beeps when you have low fuel
4) Jerky acceleration from 40-60mph (at least in my LS)
5) Clunky transmission shifts between park & reverse, and park & drive
6) Basically no aftermarket industry but there are some good things out there thanks to LSKoncepts and eBay
7) Ultimately, it's a Ford

1) The design, I picked this over a 300C only because of the interior..
2) Not many people pimp them, I have no friends pimp any Lincoln let alone an LS. Most of them are Rice Burner wanna be's.
3) Enough power. Should have had 300hp-350hp though.
4) Already sweet, dont need high modifications to improve them car to my liking.
5) I just enjoy driving it.
6) Upshifting in SST mode.

Dislikes:
1) No tranny stick, cant check or service outside of the dealer
2) The Lack of power for its class
3) 5X108 and cant fit 22's safely
4) Jerky Transmission when down shifting in SST mode
5) Should have offered AWD
6) No aftermarket support except few things from LSKoncepts and eBay
7) HID's are sweet but could have been much brighter

It just beeps and nothing pops up in the display. Some people have seen an "E" in the gear select area when this happens I believe. Mine does it on trips over 50 miles for some reason.

2. Repair costs
3. Cheap plastic for center console
3. Too small of cup holders & Console.

I like the looks of the LS as well as the way it drives. It's a very good road car. I commute 60 miles per day and it's a very comfortable commute in my LS. Power from 20 mph is good and handling is excellent. I really like the THX sound system.

I have an 03 V8 and wish they had offered the V8 with a manual. I'm not too happy about the way the transmission shifts, especially downshifts at freeway speeds (it seems to take forever to kick down).

In all I think the LS is a good value (I bought mine used over two years ago for $20000) It's been trouble free. I was considering a used BMW 540 sport with a 5 speed but it would have been at least 10000 more for the BMW.

I'm happy with my LS

For real? I hear the mystery beep like once every couple of months. If it was at those gas levels I would hear it a lot more.

My mystery beep went away after making adjustments to the door and trunk sensors. When going over a bump the trunk lid would lift probably 1/1000000000 of an inch causing the sensor to make the dash beep.

euro styling and elegant look
very solid on interstates
takes bad roads and potholes extremely well
independant rear suspension
V8 has good acceleration
decent spare tire

dislikes:
not much aftermarket
could use a little more power though gen 2 V8 w CAI and SCT tune puts car up to 300 hp.
speedo hard to read with wheel tilted down.
would prefer radio controls on left side of wheel and cruise control on right side.
rain sensitive wipers not sensitive enough
pulled plug on windshield sensor and wipers reverted to intermittent regular function (I was so happy I disabled this poorly designed IMO feature)
