I'm rebuilding a 1950 Chevy pick-up and I'm considering installing the engine from my 1998 Continental. Does anyone know of a 4 or 5 speed manual transmission that will bolt up to the 4.6 4 cam engine? Does anyone have experience with motor mounts and etc. for this type swap?

I thunk you're going to be out of luck on this. The Continental engine has a FWD pattern and I doubt it would be cost effective to have an adapter made up. If you could find a Mark VIII, you would have the RWD pattern that you are looking for.

I've had a hunch that you're right. Maybe someone else can give me some hope. My current engine is very good but the body and other bits and pieces are starting to show their age. I figure that I'll have the '50 truck ready for the engine in a year or two. By then the Continental will be too old to repair any longer. Well, let's see what other advice comes through. Thanks, Mike Sturley.

since your looking at a 4.6 DOHC.. look at mark VIII engine/tranny combo (RWD) or mustang equivalents.
