Drilling Airboxes - Good or Bad?

Besides possibly voiding my warranty will "drilling out the airbox" produce any real performance gains? I have a friend who swears by it, but I think it just made his ride louder not faster. Maybe a real intake is best, but is that sure to void the warranty? Any insight here?

I did this on my first Mark VIII before I got the cone air filter on mine, and it did absolutely nothing as far as performance. It made it sound better, but if there was any performance gain it was SO neglidgible you could not tell.....I would say that it is a waste of time..... :Beer

Waste of electricity. Call me for the proper mass air kit for the Aviator.
