20" Poblem

I am very new to this. I have a 2001 Lincoln LS V8. I recently purchase 20" Zinik Wheels w/ 245/35/20 Tires. Car looks awesome. Problem is everytime I hit a dip on a road it hits the frame. I put spacers on the springs and it does not work. I was told to put new struts. Mechanic stated don't need them. I went back to the original 17" until I figure out how to fix this problem. Last option will be to sell the rims. Again I am very new with this. Can someone please help.

Probably the wrong offset on the wheels. Do you know what the offset is for them?

What is the offset on your 20" wheels? 245/35/20 has a tire diameter of 26.8", the stock wheels have a diameter of 26.3", so I'm pretty sure the height of the tire is NOT the problem since its within 0.5". Sounds like the wheels to me.

Sorry very new. How do I find out what is the offset? Really appreciate your help.

Uh Oh... you didn't check offset? Which wheels did you buy?

Wrong Offset. There is a guy here in KC that has the same wheels and they are like a 30mm offset. Go to local wheel shop and have them check the offset. Those will need to be milled at a machine shop if you can find one willing to do it.

I found two wheels that are 20" and 5x108. One said an offset of 15, the other 42.

My rims are 20"s and they rub because my car has the sprint 1.75" lowering springs. I think the offset if 38 positive will rolling the fenders remedy this?

that's a huge drop, i don't know if even rolling the fenders will help.

Not sure if it'll remedy the problem but it's gotta help.
