please don't bash with the search thing...I did, and did not get the explanation I needed.
I'm soon gonna install my head unit, and as I was trying to remove the factory radio, it seems that the heat/a/c controls are mounted to the radio. how do you get them apart? I don't see any bolts?
is it normal for the face of the heat controls to just fall off? it clips on, but not real tight...

Two bolts are hidden by the vents on top and two bolts are hidden under the ashtray once you take the center console piece around the shifter. Then the radio and AC/heater controls all come out together.

ok...first...Then the heating unit will bolt to the install kit?
I unbolted the ashtray/heated seat thing and it only wanted to come out about one inch...
is this because I did not remove the console?

are you putting a single din or a double din unit in? on the bottom of the kit there are 3or4 little round tips that slide into the top of the ac controls
as for the face of your ac controls falling off,,,,not sure mine did not and seem very secure.
maybe that answered your question???
edit
there are four bolts that hold the whole assembly in the car the factory radio and ac will come out as one piece then you take the radio off of it. the dash kit will also have a tabs that mount at the top with the factory bracket and bolts
