MPG With 4.10 Gears

I just picked up, a pumking with 4.10 gears already installed in them for $375. I have Magnaflow exhaust, and Highflow cats installed already. I'm also JModing the valve body when I install the pumpking, My question is What kind of MPG should I get once the gears are in? Will it make a huge Difference? I have a 97 MK8 Base. Thanks for the feedback.

Your mileage will go down IMHO despite what others will say. BUT, the smile factor vs the mileage factor is what you really need to consider.

For every mpg lost, does it make you smile that much more when you tip the throttle. Look at it this way, one extra shift at the Taco Bell will pay the mileage difference for a couple months.:D

I was running ~20MPG at 75 MPH in my old 95.....

That was with a cobra intake, stage 5 baunmann, and 275/40/17's all the way around.

IMHO it's well worth it.

Well the smile factor is a must, 12 miles in town not bad since my 86 5.0gt use to give me 10 was heavly modified. my work is less than 5 miles from the house, so I guess, no taco bell for me, I'll just stick to management for now.

Its one of those things where if you do these performance mods, you tend to have a heavy foot.

But, if I drive nice, I can get about 14-15 city and 22 hwy
