How much is Denny's driveshaft cost and is it made out of aluminum or steel?

If you are asking about the MMC product, it is not available. Dynotech is offering a aluminum 4" one for the Mark Vlll thru Super Coupe.

I'm sure Denny's can build whatever you want but like Roadboss said I don't think it's available of the shelf. I have the Dynotech on from supercoupeperformace and have no complaints.

What was the prob with our driveshafts? I noticed that mine vibrates a little at about 87mph but it goes away around 95mph. And the only thing I notice is the rearview vibrates, nothin else. I just can't justify spending like $400 when I rarely drive 90mph. (its atlanta baby, traffic inferno!)

You pretty much need an aftermarket driveshaft if you get gears which i'm doing. I wouldn't spend money on it if you are stock.

Heh, stock......your talkin to a guy who built a blown navigator, I don't know what stock is.....as for gears, you know, I don't do gears. My stang (89 5.0 LX notchback) had the "highway" 2.73's and I could run around town in third gear and instantly blast anyone off the road and run it to near 115 before shifting to 4th. God I loved that on the interstate, especially on teh way to the FFW in commerce.

With 4.30's 3rd will go to 125-128mph shifting at 7000rpm in a Mark VIII.

i get real nervous at 7K RPM. Though my tuner did tell me that I could get this bad boy up to 155 without the limiter

i got 4.10's mine doesnt vibrate... im not sure how fast im going because my speedo is off (until that plastic speedo adjuster gear gets here) ive seen it hit 135, so im guessing thats above 90. i dont get vibes at all? the only time my car really really vibrated is when my tires were off. terrible vibes.

i also have a buddy who has a 3.90's in his 95, his car vibrates exponentionly after like 70... so a driveshaft is always a good idea, but if its not terrible, i'm just giving my .02 that somehow i'm lucky i guess?

You may indeed be lucky, as the majority of us who have stepped up our gear ratio's have replaced our drive shafts to a more rigid design shaft (MMC was one material in use at a time). Excessive drive shaft vibration over a extended period of time can lead to tailshaft failure, which can get very ugly.

i know i need one eventually, but for now i'm easy with it. i think with my bush check im going to get one, so is my friend. This would be a great time to do a group buy, even better a group buy for the mmx shafts. supply and demand! cheers!

when we put the five speed in the 94 we used an adapter from dallas mustang that had dip switches that you could set to match the gear ratio and tire size you are running. we used a gps and road markers to set the speedometer. got it to less than 4 tenths of a mile in1000. also checked by gps. jd

I just ordered a Denny's 4" shaft the other day. With shipping etc, they were a little bit higher then Dynotech, but pretty close... Mind you I need it to come across the border, so your results may vary with shipping...
