EGR tube assemblymhtease March 20th, 2008, 08:19 AM Hello everyone , I would like to thanks Maxx @ Five Star Ford for getting my part in right away . Does anyone know how difficult it is to put the tube assembly on ? JMiles_T March 20th, 2008, 01:34 PM It's easy to put on. The challenge is getting the old one off without stripping something. Soak the exhaust pipe end of the old one with PB Blaster a little while before you start. Get the car in the air, and remove the windshield wiper assembly to get access to both ends of the old tube. When you're ready to put the new one on, remember to: Use anti-seize compound on the threads. Put the exhaust end on hand tight only. turborich March 21st, 2008, 03:01 AM Don't listen to him, it's a royal pain in the azz! I got so frustrated when I replaced mine that I almost smashed the car with a hammer! I guess it's not too bad as long as you remove the wiper assembly. mhtease March 21st, 2008, 08:28 AM Thanks for the info , I just finished up and it was a pain in the a$$. But its done . AbrahamLincoln March 21st, 2008, 09:18 AM how often do they have to be replaced? What are the indicators to replace it (anything short of a cel i guess) im getting the egg smell when i go wot, so i read the thread about needed new 02 sensors, and thats always a good idea - but if i get new 02 sensors, is it like the same time to do the EGR as well? turborich March 21st, 2008, 02:18 PM you will know the egr tube needs replaced when you get a very annoying exhaust leak. | ||||
