MistaMoeGod March 19th, 2008, 10:14 AM Sitting @ Giant, waiting on a guy to put his family & groceries in the car.... I'm in NO rush at all...finally he backs out and a car attempts to take the spot...he backs out in a way that cuts them off and I pull in the spot..
I get out...4 Latino's in a green Honda roll down the windows..yelling..blah blah blah..yadda yadda yadda...basically we exchanged a few words, I watched them pull off and I went into the store..came out..and my entire passenger side KEYED..from FRONT TO BACK...TWO LINES!!!!!!..down to the white...
I was able to view the surveillance tapes and you can CLEARLY see the car come back....but that's all you can see..no tags, can't see the person get out or anything because of where I was parked....
it's always something...
stuntin_LS March 19th, 2008, 10:22 AM I would of moved spots
EmpireSix March 19th, 2008, 10:28 AM unreal. that sucks. I have this thing where I mentally grab peoples plate numbers when I get suspicious about crap. Im gonna end up being a whistle blower when Im old arent I ? bah, I already dont like me 40 years from now.
pektel March 19th, 2008, 10:49 AM That sucks... I always make it a point to even get the plate numbers of people parked on either side of me, just in case some douchebag throws open his door carelessly. A situation like your's would be easy in a small town like where I live to track down who did it. Hopefully you can track them down. Eye for an eye... but I suppose it's a honda, so would they even notice?
jk52781 March 19th, 2008, 10:58 AM That is sad news to hear your car was vandalized. That is good news they are on video tape. If I had exchanged words with grocery store street punks like yourself I probably would have left the scene and come back later. It just seems like there are too many pricks like them in the world that would do such a thing.
MistaMoeGod March 19th, 2008, 11:01 AM I figured watching them drive off and go through the light was time enough for me to run in, grab a bottle of wine and run out....
i guess it only takes a sec.....hopefully my brother can fix this for me..if not..
do you guys recommend anything besides calling my insurance company? it's too deep to be buffed out...
skizot722 March 19th, 2008, 12:17 PM I always make it a point to even get the plate numbers of people parked on either side of me, just in case some douchebag throws open his door carelessly.
Exactly! There are way too many people out there that don't give a crap about other people's property.
MistaMoeGod, I'm really sorry to hear about that. That sucks! Stupid sh!t disrespectful punks. If you've got a problem with a person, then take it up with the person, not their property! People who do crap like this are just dumbsh!t panzies. Sorry, I get fired up when I hear about stuff like this.
lseguy March 19th, 2008, 01:47 PM Sorry this happened, and here's a tip that has allowed me to drive and park over 95k miles and over 5 years (just on THIS LS) without as much as a single door ding.
Unless you have absolutely, positively, NO choice whatsoever? Never park between ANYONE. 99% of the time I can find an end spot. That alone reduces the chance of getting a door ding by 50%. And usually, I park a good distance away from everyone, so I actually end up with NO one on either side. 0% chance of a door ding. A side benefit of my strategy? (besides slipping in some needed walking excersize) I never, ever end up getting into an argument with anyone over a parking space. Because in your case, even though you may have been in the right? You ended up losing. Period. End of story.
lseguy March 19th, 2008, 01:50 PM ..also, not sure it was necessary to mention the race of the individuals in the car.
skizot722 March 19th, 2008, 01:58 PM Unless you have absolutely, positively, NO choice whatsoever? Never park between ANYONE. 99% of the time I can find an end spot.
That's exactly what I do as well. And I'll walk several blocks if I have to get one of those types of spots, where I have no one on either side.
I never, ever end up getting into an argument with anyone over a parking space. Because in your case, even though you may have been in the right? You ended up losing. Period. End of story.
That absolutely does not excuse their actions. Like I mentioned earlier, if you've got a problem with someone, and/or their actions/mouth/etc., then you take it up with them, not their property. Period. End of story.
HyeLifeLS March 19th, 2008, 02:32 PM stupid ass mofos... hate people wasted people like that.
MistaMoeGod March 19th, 2008, 03:17 PM ..also, not sure it was necessary to mention the race of the individuals in the car.
wasn't done for any purpose..just telling the story..
unless someone in my area is on this board and you know someone of that race that drives a green honda accord w/ gold trim..lol..joking..
but my bro owns a detailing shop..he was telling me the he can fill the scratches in and buff them out and you'll hardly even notice it unless you're looking for it..i dont know..ill let him try then I'll go from there..
i tried to take a pic but you couldnt really see it because I had just waxed it...ill take one soon..
MonsterMark March 19th, 2008, 03:44 PM ..also, not sure it was necessary to mention the race of the individuals in the car.
And why not? Please explain.
Should he have said a 'bunch of white dudes'? Would that have been OK?
Should he have referred to them as low-life Americans instead? Or just some 'bad guys'?
Whatever you want to call them, they are scumbags.
2000LSMichael March 19th, 2008, 07:00 PM Had the same garbage happen to me at Walmart. Parked towards the back of the parking lot, saw 3 kids playing hacky sack, came back and had nice key marks in the Ford F-350. Came home, next morning, had 2 flat tires that I didn't know about. Ice pick does wonders too. Luckily the F-350's tires got me home and were not flat until the next morning.
lseguy March 19th, 2008, 08:31 PM That's exactly what I do as well. And I'll walk several blocks if I have to get one of those types of spots, where I have no one on either side.

Your missing the point. When you get your car keyed? You lose. The Original Poster lost. He may have been "in the right" regarding the parking space. But in the end, he ended up with a keyed up car and no way to get back at who did it.
lseguy March 19th, 2008, 08:32 PM And why not? Please explain.

Because their race (whatever it may have been) had no effect on the facts of the story. Thats a simple fact.
GWL March 19th, 2008, 08:49 PM Because their race (whatever it may have been) had no effect on the facts of the story. Thats a simple fact. Their description does matter if your hoping that someone knows them or will recognize them. This whole race thing is getting out of hand. I spent 27 years in Law Enforcement and have long advocated that all governmental agencies completely drop race from descriptions. (racial catagories are artificial and they are wrong many times anyway). We should just do a good description of the individuals and leave it go at that. Color charts for skin tone, eye charts for eye shape etc.
skizot722 March 19th, 2008, 10:07 PM Your missing the point. When you get your car keyed? You lose. The Original Poster lost. He may have been "in the right" regarding the parking space. But in the end, he ended up with a keyed up car and no way to get back at who did it.
No, you're missing the point my friend. You don't f^ck with people's property if you have a problem with them. "Period and End of Story" as you originally put it. ;)
Snowseeker March 19th, 2008, 10:47 PM Very sad! I too park way away from everyone when I'm in any of my good vehicles.
As for the scratchs, if they are down to the primer you are pretty much done for if you want it perfect. Filling them with single stage and buffing them out should be pretty decent and you may not mind the ghost of the scratch. In order to do the job right every pannel that was scratched beyond the clear coat will have to be DA'ed, blocked, and repainted.
I would be irate! If the town was small enough I think I would drive around for hours looking for that car!

Im telling the original poster how he could have avoided his car being scratched in the first place, and can significantly reduce his chances of it happening again. Which is: Dont get into arguments over parking spaces..and if you do get into the argument? Dont leave your car unattended in said parking space.

Also when parking on the end make sure you are next to the passenger side of the car since 99% of cars have 1 person in them. If you have to park next to someone do not park next to a 2 door car (very wide doors). I like minivans since the doors slide instead of swing.
ground_zero298 March 20th, 2008, 09:35 AM I always try to park as far away as I can, Sometimes I won't even go into the store if I have to park inbetween people. Sorry to hear about you car, that really blows that some people are that ignorant. Really pulls on your heart strings when people do stuff like this to the things you own.

pektel March 20th, 2008, 09:42 AM +1 on not parking next to 2 door vehicles. My grandfather taught me that. He's driven Lincolns for the past 25 years.
Minivans have their pros and cons. Yes they have sliding doors in the rear. But a Minivan normally equals mom driving plus more than one kid. Be careful parking on the passenger side of a minivan since there probably will be a 10 year old throwing that door open...
jk52781 March 20th, 2008, 09:53 AM Yae I have a dent that I need to get out this week from a door hitting me at work. It is hard at times to avoid people parking next to you especially when at work and the entire parking lot fills up. I guess I need to find a corner spot.

pektel March 20th, 2008, 11:09 AM A while back, I was in a parking lot, and as I was walking in, I saw a similar ordeal over a parking space. An old lady in a caddy was waiting for a parking spot as someone was pulling out. They backed out the wrong way, cutting her off. Just then, some young kid in a sporty car flies in and takes the parking spot. The kid just shrugs and says to her "that's how it is when you're young and fast." The old lady throws her caddy into gear, and rams the kids car. He turns around and starts screaming at her, getting all out of control. She got out of the car, smiled, and said "that's how it is when you're old and rich!"

skizot722 March 20th, 2008, 11:16 AM LSEGUY is correct, what the hell are you talkin about?
I'll tell you exactly what I'm talking about since you feel the need to jump on his bandwagon. I fully comprehend what he is saying. You should try your best in life not to put yourself into bad situations where something bad can happen to you. Yes, the OP probably should have taken a step back and just let things slide. And yes, had he done that, then his LS probably would not have gotten keyed.
But here's where LSEGUY (and obviously you) have a major problem comprehending things. You try your best not to get into those bad situations, but guess what, sh!t happens in life, and sometimes you may find yourself in one of those situations. And please, spare me the non-sense about how that never happens to you. So, if you do find yourself in one of those situations, and it doesn't play out like you'd hoped, then the both of you seem to agree that whomever you've gotten into an altercation/argument/etc. with have the right to destroy your property? I don't think so, and if you do think that, then there's something very wrong with your thought process.
Sh!t happens in life, but that never, ever gives you the right to destroy someone's property. You have a problem with a person, and you came to that thinking for whatever reasons/actions/etc., then you take it up with the person, not their property. That is precisely what I said in an earlier post, and LSEGUY had the nerve to call my comprehension atrocious. I got his point, and I figured that was apparent with what I wrote, but obviously not.

Lame. The OP posted this thread for sympathy, and to share his story. Not for lameass comments telling him that he's a loser. And yes, that is precisely what your comments conclude. And btw, LSEGUY, since you don't want race being part of the threads, then you might want to keep religion out of them as well; not everyone is religious ;). And along with that, you might want to get over your "holier than thou" attitude, acting as if you're the perfect human being. Anywho, I'm done. I think anyone reading this gets both points, so to continue it on is pretty pointless.

Right on, man (I assume anyway...).
Furthermore I raise the question, at what point is enough enough? At what point can a person stop being the sheep? Sorry about the Lincoln, but what if it was an early eighties Escort that had been needing TLC ever since the middle eighties and our good friend MistaMoeGod was struggling to keep his new quintuplets fed and in diaper, never mind buy an LS. Door dings wouldn't be his concern, making it to his second job would be. Now he's going to come out to four flats instead of two key marks. Would the law help him? No. So sad too bad would be the general concesus. I can agree with a little vigilantism. Why should he give up a parking spot to some boisterous loudmouths (regardless of whether they are legal latinos, illegal latinos or even latino looking Italians...) We should not have to live in fear of b^llshlt like that.
bigbody March 20th, 2008, 06:18 PM Is it me or is there alot of racist morons on this forum. Oh and by the way not all latinos and imigrants are illegals.

I dont want to turn this thread into a big legal debate but your method of memorizing a tag is impressive but will do you very little good. It wont get you anywhere legally and if by some chance you were able to track down the owner and you did something then YOU run the possibility of ending up in a court in front of a judge. Your word vs. the other guy gets you no where. Sh!t like that sucks and as hard as it might be you just got to be the bigger man and suck it up. Get a police report and your insurance will cover it minus your comp. deductible. Another little tip for everyone is to carry a $100 comp. deductible, the difference in the cost of your policy with minimal.
skizot722 March 20th, 2008, 07:44 PM Is it me or is there alot of racist morons on this forum. Oh and by the way not all latinos and imigrants are illegals.
Who are you claiming is racist? I've yet to see a racist comment in this thread. If you're going to make a statement like that, then please explain. As has already been explained, I'm pretty sure the OP mentioned they were Latino for the sake of identification, in case someone from his area recognizes the vehicle.
And I agree with a previous poster, this whole race thing is totally getting out of hand. It's just a character trait for the sake of description. Should people stop giving out the estimated weight/height/color of hair and eyes in descriptions? I don't think so, and I don't see race as being any different. So, to call someone a racist for describing the race of an individual is completely asinine. And not only that, it takes the progression of equal rights/etc. a step backwards.

Memorizing tags is a good idea when you have their paint on your vehicle. Easy to match up by replicating the scenario in the parking lot of the courthouse if need be.
I retract my statement about messing up their vehicle in return.

In theory thats a valid way to look at it but the reality is different. The time frame between when the car got hit and when your case actually goes before a judge would be too long to still have the paint match arguement work, unless you put your car in storage and dont drive it till you go to court. Unless the other car has some exotic paint all the other person would have to say is their car is a standard oem paint that could have come from a variety of "other" cars. Get the drift? You have the burden to prove your case and the matching paint thing is a long shot, you need a witness. Honestly, sh!t like that is just better to get over it and move on.

mnmridg March 20th, 2008, 09:42 PM Is it me or is there alot of racist morons on this forum. Oh and by the way not all latinos and imigrants are illegals.
Oh, Quite True!!
And niether are all illegals Latino. Middle east, eastern euope, Russia, far east, as well as Central and South Americas. The other Americas just get more of notoriety and media attention because of the astounding level of violence and gang activity. MistaMoeGod mentioned that they may have been of latin decent, somebody else went to illegal, I was merely pointing out that there are other ethnicities that have an olive hued skin. But I was not there argueing with them, that may actually made it clear if maybe they were or were not.
I firmly believe that the melting pot dynamic has made this a truly great country, but unfortunatly we are at a period in time that immigration (NOT just from the southern border!) needs to be checked (stopped) and then controled for economical as well as safety reasons. I have worked hand in hand with many nationalities, both legal and illegal, and as the saying goes, a few bad apples will spoil the bunch!

And ended up with a keyed car, maybe $500 out of his pocket for a deductible payment, a repaint that will NEVER match or have depth gloss that matches 100% the original surrounding paint, out of his car for a few days for repair. The guy whose LS got scratched can feel anyway he wants to feel. But if you are asking why he should now judge and hate 100% of all persons of a given race based upon the actions of four? Then you don't get it.

And as far as racist morons go, give this guy with the scratched up LS one good reason why he shouldn't be pissed at latino's now. Hate's just part of life, deal with it. If you think theirs gonna be some peaceful world in the future with everyone holding hands pass me what you smokin. You can't say :q:q:q:q anymore with out someone cryin about it.
Hate is a part of life, you must live the worst life ever I understand getting mad at a certain person but putting a whole race in one pot because of one incident is pretty ignorant. Oh and by the wy no one is crying my life is great I was just pointing out that its people like you that just dont get it.
93' Blue on blue March 21st, 2008, 11:02 PM It is likely that you will see the offenders again. (people tend to be loyal with regard to grocery stores) You could be patient and wait to see them again - only other alternative is to fix your car up and forget the whole ordeal. (i park FAR away from everyone for these very reasons) Sux that the law can't do anything about it though...
devilchild March 21st, 2008, 11:20 PM i dont travel into the ls threads too often.. i just peeked in because i hate to see someones car get keyed.. i gotta ask a question..
do you guys always argue this much??. . its almost entertaining
anyway,.. i hope you find those guys that did this.. LS or Mark VIII.. either way, no one deserves to have their car keyed
