So I am like most with an 02 and looks like I have to replace my ignition coils. I had it in the shop and they told me of a new problem. They said that while they had the car in the "ON" position it was not communicating with the diagnostic equipment. They said it only would communication while the car was running and that this concerned them. Has anybody ever run into this before, it sounds kind of expensive....

Sounds like ignition switch contact problem which is not so expensive.

How about low battery condition?
I remember hearing about how important it was to have fully charged battery when reading codes or re-flashing the PCM.

ewhat year? most common issue is that people are trying to use an ODBII scanner with an 03+ LSes which uses CAN.
