Good morning guys,

Well, I bumped into a car in front of me this morning in stop and go traffic. Totally sux.. anyways zero damage to her car (didnt even scratch the salt on her car). But of course, my front bumper cover has to crack in two places. (It is only 10 degrees out today.. sigh)

Has anyone on here used onlinebodyshop on ebay? The link is below.. they offer a new factory lincoln bumper cover, and they paint and clear coat it, for $599. If I replace the cover myself that is alot cheaper than the $1000 everyone wants around here in MN. Or does anyone else know of a better place? Is the front cover hard to replace?

When I needed my hood repainted, I preferred having a local body shop perform the work, so they could guarantee a color match. But mine was a tricoat...

The body shop charged my insurance about 700 to refinish the hood, don't know if there is more work to painting a bumper cover...

Id get it done at a local shop. They can match the paint better, and if there is a problem with it you can make them fix it before you take the car back.

Hey Jerry,

I have a guy in St. Paul I would recommend. I have been taking my car to him for everything. He is great. His name is Steve at Benchmark Auto off of Rice Street and Owasso not to far from Rice and 694. 651-481-3932

Hey Jerry, Pektel and a few others are going to meet up later this spring. Would that be something you are interested in? Thanks John

Ahh kewl, I work about 10-15 mins from Rice and 694 (im in Vadnais Heights). I'll check them out. I think I'm just going to get some quotes and send it into the insurance co.. F em. Ive paid them enough money the past 15 years without a single claim.

Yeah, let me know when you guys are getting together. Id probably be interested in that.

Thanks,
Jer

If all you damaged is the bumper cover you're lucky!! I had a lady hit me 2 weeks ago going into Wal-Mart around 10-15mph and it caused $2600 in damage to the front of my 01 LS and it was about 10 degrees out that day. The only thing it did to her Explorer was put a small paint mark on her steel bumper. Good thing her insurance is paying for it.
