95 mark VIII I have the front bezel off as well as the info center buttons above, I can't get the radio out! I made removal pins out of a hanger & it still wont slide out. Am I missing something???

Please respond.

I had this once, my shop showed me that you can actually push them in too far and it will re-lock. You want to put then in just far enough then push them outward as you pull back. Thats all I can think of! Its one of those things that once you do once it easy every time after! :)

Thanks, I've been at it for over a half hour now! I'm even trying to push the spring locking things on the sides of the radio with my fingers, but this this is in there! I will go back at it again. I can't believe this thing wont pop out.

Try taking out the message center button thingy. It pops up, then lift lust a little to unplug the harnesses. Once out you have tons of room to get to the radio, but not sure if it will help with removal though.

I fought with my vic's radio for twenty minutes. You can't put the tools in too far and you have to bend them out away from each other. They can be a real bitch.

dude just go buy the tools at autozone, coat hanger works, but the real tool has a little ball on the end that makes the spring locks move out so much easier, i can get them out with homemade ones, but the tools is a few bucks and takes seconds, not a half hour!

Have to removed the message center button panel? Might help a little if the tools don't work. I always use the tools made for the removal.

walmart had the DIN tool. Costs like $3.50. Took about 4 sec to remove. My 96 didnt require any bezel removing.
