so my mark is acting up.. lately she hasn't been starting, one click and then silence.. but if i leave a light under the hood she starts up just fine. any suggestions?

a couple weeks ago i was in a hurry and tried fording a badly flooded road.. but backed out after i realized it was too deep.. took her to my girlfriends and let her sit for a good 3 hours and she started fine so i don't find it likely that that has anything to do with it but i'm not sure

Get your battery and charging system checked at your local parts store. They do it for free.

You probably submerged your starter and starter solenoid. Best to replace both if they stood in that much water, but it sounds like you solenoid may be dying.

i was thinking the same about the starter being fried b/c of the water.. however i jacked around with it, cleaned the contacts and found that part of the wire was bare.. covered it up and haven't had a problem since, but tanks for the help
