Antenna?Sal329 February 20th, 2008, 11:58 AM Is there a way to get rid of the power antenna and use some sort of short rod stationary antenna? unity February 20th, 2008, 12:09 PM Ya. Its just an antenna like any other. Should pop out easily. If you really felt up to it I bet you could pop in a Gen II rear window with the integrated one. I would do that but dont listen to AM or FM ever. NateRW21 February 20th, 2008, 01:17 PM You can also just put in a stand-alone amplified antenna; you can usually get them for about $15-$20 from the car stereo place; hook one wire up to ground, one up to your accessory on lead... and you're set; epoxy that SOB under your dash... Get the hole for the antenna filled on your fender and repaint! JMiles_T February 20th, 2008, 01:43 PM Why do you want to? If it's because the nylon cord broke, it's not difficult to replace the mast. It'll probably take a similar amount time to fix, as is will to replace the whole assembly. GMAN February 20th, 2008, 04:27 PM :I It dosen't take much to fix the power antenna. Sal329 February 20th, 2008, 04:39 PM I do not like the look of the antenna. Especially when it is fully out. Dawkins February 20th, 2008, 04:40 PM I think what he's getting at is its ugly as H3LL when the antenna is up...look like a remote control car man...i just unplugged my power connector still get most radios but not ones from a distance...screw radio anyway... Battery February 20th, 2008, 07:07 PM Yea I hate the way it looks as well. I'm saving up to have the hole plugged in and have it painted over. kustomizingkid February 20th, 2008, 09:17 PM I'm getting rid of mine once it warms up. I'm jsut gonna fill the hole in and listen to cds and my ipod like I always do. | ||||
