Thinking of selling my mercedes E320 and getting a LS. I am a ford lover from the heart. What should i look for and are there better years than others. Is the LS reliable or will it be a money pit

03+ will be less problems, I own 02lse with 60k no problems. Definitely a second gen, go with a 06. common problems are coils and valve gaskets

Consumer report says the mercedes brand is the least reliable... of ALL brands of automobiles. So just lookin at the stats, it should be an upgrade as for reliability. But def. go for 04-06, V8, sport... weren't that many options... Navigation, wheels (who cares about factory wheels on a used car anyway), sunroof and heated rear seats are about it for options.

Seems to be the thing with German cars - very well made bodies and interiors but crap electrics! (Bosch)

Merc is sufferring from a deeper than expected funding to fix Chrysler. Now that the problem is gone - they can reinvest in quality....
