AndrewCoja February 3rd, 2008, 03:58 AM What do you mean? The buttons in the radio are backlit (the words turn green), and the shifter also has backlighting on the Letters. I don't think that's your problem. But i could be wrong... eastcoastLS February 4th, 2008, 11:26 AM +1 on this problem, intermittently no head unit or shifter illumination...and the poor dealer around here says its normal lseguy February 4th, 2008, 11:34 AM shifter light isnt hard to replace, just pop the cover off and there are 2 bulbs in there I think if have sst. the bulbs can be found at any car parts store. A wee bit more to it than this. The center console needs to come up, which simply means the ashtray/heated seat trim needs to be popped off, then the console lifted up and off. Traction Control plug needs to be unplugged from switch for the console to come completely off. The shift bezel may need to be taken off, or at least lifted up for room. The bezel pulls straight up and unsnaps from it's holders. You should then be able to twist the bulb housing counterclockwise, pull out, and replace bulb. glanga February 4th, 2008, 12:10 PM A wee bit more to it than this. Pop the shifter plate up and carefully pull the bulbs out and re-install new ones. So....whatever works for you. My way worked for me no problems in less than 5 minutes, job done. It lights up within a few seconds, not sure if its when I shift or what. | ||||
