last night i started up the car (2002 ls v6) and i let it warm up as usual and after i drove about a block the check engine light came on and the car started to vibrate. i let it sit over night and it went away but im not risking driving it again. does anyone know what the problem could be?

Not without having it checked to see if it recorded a code then go from there, otherwise you’re just guessing.

If you wanna stop by tomorrow when I'm back in Brooklyn, I can check the codes for you with my XCAL. Just shoot me a PM with your number and I'll give you a call when I'm back. Or you can take the car to an AutoZone and have them check the codes for free.
Definitely sounds like a coil to me. Or maybe the PCV hose problem that's common on the V6s.

It's clogged from coils going bad letting unburned fuel into the exhaust. Not sure if they'd cover that under the 8 year/80,000 mile warranty on cats or not..?
