ok! just bought it and just walked in the door... 10 hour round trip drive.... well....

everything almost works on the car... great ride, ac,heat, all speakers ect....

car has a flip out TV.... when i bought it... well on the way home i wanted to use the cruise control.... well i switched it on then hit set... NOPE nothing....

so... the cruise control does not work.... i hit the horn... NOTHING... i also when turning lane to lane use the blinker.... no "click click click" noise.

so far these are what i found wrong i have not been looking to hard dont wanna find something i dont want :)

so

-blinkers click = no (but they do work blinking)
-horn = does not work
-CC = no worky

it's 11 at night so i have not checked the fuses yet. i need to bust out the booklet.... i have one from my 02 will that be the same diagram?

but changing the stero would this not make all the buttons on my steering wheel work? i know the vol and seek ect will not unless you get that little box (whatever it may be called)'

i turn the car and there is a squeeking noise like if the power steering pump would be going out..BUT! it makes it when the car is off and key out of IGN. So it cant be power steering.. could it? tie rod end? some boot somewhere? it's front in center maybe pass.


ALSO... back window will not roll down (motor probably gone just ebay for one)

so basically only problems

cc
back pass window down
squeeky noise


i traded for this car my 99 silverado on 22's for it.... i had a 02 but it was totaled by some dumb a-- ..... so i am back into the LS

haha, i was just reading your other thread. then i get to the bottom of this one and read about the trade with the silverado (not realizing theyre both your posts). as for your issues, i cant answer that.

im sure you dont really want to hear this right now, but youve got the thoroughly check everything you can on the car out before making the deal.

you need to push two buttons to activate the cruise control, you know this right? and as far as the buttons on the steering wheel the audio ones will not work with aftermarket unless you used some kind of kit to do so. as far as the blinkers go if they work outside i don't see a problem. the horn not working?, never heard of that one, sry

the steering wheel stereo controls and the horn both go through the clockspring and connect to a controller at the base of the steer column. I believe your cruise controls also attach there.

2buttons? u mean the button under the backside of the steering wheel. i know that if your talking about that. way you are explaing it i get that you have to hit 2 different buttons. like power button to radio and trunk pop u know (2 different)

it's cold outside and i dont wanna be pulling sh-t out :) ... and i live in the south not use to cold weather this winter it's cold... it's like 40 something.. (yeah that's t-shirt and shorts weather for up north i understand but once you get use to something it's different)

hopefully it's just unhooked... i played with the buttons they are all firm none of them are broke hope putting aftermarket tv (would not know why but some cars everything hooked up to the headunit) messing with it. I bought the car as it sits SO! i dont know what the hell has been messed with, cut, spliced, elec tape, zip tied, bubble gum wrapped.
