Also, I thought the recommended offset was 40mm.. does the 45 push the tire outwards more ?

45 pushes the tire in more. Which is god because then you can go with a wider tire and no rubbing.

i just ordered my black powder coated calipers and rotors.. so i'm thinknig with tax returns and a black on black car they'll look alright
