2-3 Accumulator

First of all what IS a 2-3 shift accumulator? When my tranny shifts from 2 to 3 the rmps drop and it acts like its in neutral. But if i hit red line in will bash in for a second or two then goes right back out. I read in a book that my shop teacher has, that if i have no or delayed 3rd, that is the 2-3 accumulator. How can i fix this and how much will it cost me? Im still in high school and cant make enough money for jack so donations are warmly welcome.

Better hurry up and sell the car while it is still moving as your tranny is probably ready to fall out of the car, and it's going to be adleast hundreds of dollars to fix it.

The transmission does not have to come out of the car to remove the valve body.
